2025 Stage Chronicle

October 29, 2025 | Restarting the Blog

Today is October 29, 2025, and I am officially restarting my personal blog. The blog is still under construction, and I will gradually improve both its content and features over time.

Looking back, it has been almost three years since I started working full-time. During these three years, I have mainly focused on three things: work, life, and preparing to study in Japan. So far, all three have been moving along fairly well.

Preparing to Study in Japan

Three years ago, I already had a vague feeling that I might not stay in my current job for very long. Half-jokingly, I began preparing to study in Japan while continuing to work. I took Japanese and English exams, wrote a research proposal, and even reached out to professors. I did not expect it to actually work, but somehow it did: through a lucky chain of events, I received an offer from the Library and Information Science program at the University of Tsukuba.

Changes in Work and Life

At the beginning of this year, my department went through a major reshuffle. My manager, my manager’s manager, and the rest of the leadership team were all changed. At the same time, the workload kept increasing. After several extremely intense new colleagues joined the team, the group slowly settled into a “10-11-6” rhythm, while I was still trying to hold onto “10-8-5”. I care deeply about work-life balance, so that kind of schedule was simply unacceptable to me. In the end, I directly asked my manager for a severance package and now plan to leave officially next March, returning to a freer life.

A New Life Goal

Thinking about the fact that I may be starting my life in Ibaraki around this time next year makes me genuinely excited. For the coming months, I plan to focus on improving my physical condition. Because of work stress and other reasons, my weight has climbed to 83 kg. My partner and I made a deal: if I can get down to 70 kg before going to Japan next year, I get to reward myself with a sports car, haha. I hope I can make it happen.

One final note: this blog is also intended to support my future job search in Japan, so I may try writing in Japanese and English from time to time. I hope I can keep it going.
